The Central Ohio Behavioral Healthcare Hospital was inaugurated on May 22, 2024, marking a major step forward for Ohio's mental health care system. The new facility on Columbus' West Side, funded by the 2018 capital budget, was significantly supported by Democratic state Rep. Adam C. Miller, who fought for the necessary funding. The hospital, expected to serve 990 patients annually, replaces the outdated Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare Kosar building and offers enhanced privacy and safety features despite ongoing workforce shortages.
